As a licensed clinical social worker and therapist, I’ve spent the last fifteen years helping couples and families find healthier, more fulfilling ways to do life together. So when I remarried after divorce and blended my household—my two daughters with my husband’s two young boys—I figured I was better equipped than most to handle the transition.
But life, as it often does, had other plans.
Despite my training, I found myself bouncing daily between inadequacy, frustration, exhaustion, and even hopelessness. Our marriage felt strained. The kids were struggling. And I couldn’t help but think, Even with all I know… this is still SO hard.
Something had to change. And fast.
So I did what I’ve always done in hard moments: I went deep. I dug into the best research and resources available on blended family dynamics—what actually works—and began applying those insights in both my home and my practice.
What I discovered was this:
Traditional marriage and parenting frameworks often fall short when it comes to stepfamilies. The needs, the rhythms, and the emotional dynamics are different—and they deserve tailored support.
That’s why I expanded my practice to include blended family coaching.
Today, I work with couples and families across the country, offering grounded, research-informed guidance to help them move forward with more clarity, connection, and confidence.
Why “Just Keep It Goin’”?
Inscribed inside my husband Jack’s and my wedding rings is our shared mantra: Just Keep It Goin’.
It’s simple—but powerful. In our hardest moments, it reminds us: we don’t have to be perfect. We just have to keep going. We regroup. We learn. We show up again. Every day is a new start.
And now, I’m sharing that mantra with you.
Whether your family is feeling stuck, stretched, or just searching for a little more peace, I want you to know: you’re not alone. And there’s a path forward. One step at a time. One day at a time.
Let’s walk it together.
